Its seventh expansion project offers spacious, pleasant environments with more stores, services, entertainment choices and comfort for consumers and storeowners. There is more than 9,500 m2 gross leasable area (GLA), 45 stores and 2 levels of offices available for rental with a total 4,000 m2, in addition to 628 indoor parking spaces with direct mall access. BarraShopping strongly identifies with the city and Rio de Janeiro natives maintain a warm relationship with the complex. For the last two years it has been chosen as the city's favorite shopping mall in a contest organized by O Globo newspaper.
7th and 8th EXPANSIONS RibeirãoShopping, a project that is going to leave the mall even bigger and better.
In order to serve one of the country's fastest growing regions, Multiplan is coming out ahead once again with a master plan that includes, among other projects, three new expansion projects for RibeirãoShopping mall.
The projects will add 20,600 m2 gross leasable area, increasing the mall's GLA to 67,200 m2, an increase of 44.1% over the current area. That adds up to 129 more stores and 1,200 parking spaces.
The inauguration of the 6th expansion project happened on November 27th, 2012, and added 4,100 m2 GLA to the shopping center, with 41 new stores. The 7th expansion will add 6,300 m2 GLA and 23 stores to the mall, along with a gym. For its part, the 8th expansion will increase GLA by 10,200 m2 and include 65 more stores. The new areas will be inaugurated in 2013.
Two "green" commercial towers in the MorumbiShopping complex
The MorumbiShopping complex keeps on growing. In its vicinity, Morumbi Corporate is under development, an enterprise composed of two choice office towers for leasing in São Paulo, with 18 and 26 floors respectively, totaling 74,198 m² of Gross Leasable Area. One of the project highlights is an elevated square interconnecting the two towers, with ten outlets for restaurants and convenience stores. Total estimated investment is set at BRL 448 million. The inauguration is scheduled for the second half of 2013.
The architectural design uses "green seal" standards, in preparation for LEED certification (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design). Morumbi Corporate has already received the Gold pre-certification. This certificate is awarded by Green Building Council Brazil, a non-governmental institution that works to promote eco-efficiency in buildings worldwide.
Morumbi Corporate will complement the complex built around MorumbiShopping, which includes Morumbi Office Tower, Centro Profissional MorumbiShopping, built on top of the mall expansion, and MorumbiBusinessCenter.
